@Monique: I'm always amazed by trees. Whatever is the season, the weather, the time of day, they can generate different feelings. Can be confort sometimes or can be dread.
I'm quite convinced that it may come from very ancient fears, I mean ancestral fears.
I do prefer seeing them as useful creatures, inhaling our toxic activities, offering shelters to other living creatures. But today, the question is : for how many times ?

Super...La nature réserve toujours de belles surprise à qui sait regarder...
Ca me fait penser à une photo que j'ai faite au Niger (en date du 26/01/08 dans mon porte-folio), je ne sais pas si tu l'avais vue, où un bout de bois prenait presque forme de la réalité.

@Marie-Hélène Ammor: Un très vieux tronc, sans aucun doute, tout sec et tout rugueux... qui rendait encore service malgré sa déshydratation irréversible ! :-)
Un vrai personnage dans ce paysage jurassien que j'aime tant... il était gardien de champ, relié à des fils à un autre bout de bois, fermant une porte faite de bric et de broc...

Je viens de voir ta reponse. "La hulotte" est un tres tres vieux magazine extrement sympathique sur la nature auquel j'etais abonne il y a tres longtemps. Le magazine existe toujours aujourd'hui je pense et ils ont un site web ici. J'ai souvenir d'excellentes photos sur ce theme des visages dans la nature...
Une reelle source d'inspiration ici
